Remembering...
12 years ago I became a New Yorker. A few short weeks after I moved here from the Midwest, 9/11 happened. It devastated me, crushed the world as I knew it, and made me reevaluate what I wanted to do with my life.
I decided that day that I needed to do something that would make a difference. I needed a career that would impact people's lives in a tangible way. I would know a few years later that my path would be to design people's homes, to give them spaces in which they could raise their families and create special memories.
So much in my life has changed since that day. But from the moment I stepped foot on the island known as Manhattan, I have been in love with this powerful and vulnerable city. And I am doing my best to make it a better, more beautiful place to live.
Remembering and reflecting on this very important day.
